7 TIPS TO GLOWING SKIN

1.       Veggies, Veggies and more Veggies

Consume lots of high-water content vegetables that are easy to digest, such as asparagus, zucchini, broccoli, cucumber, lettuce, radish and eggplant.

2.       Provide Your Skin with the Right Food

Feeding your skin is one of the most crucial steps for achieving glowing skin. If your skin cells are properly nourished, your skin will definitely mirror it. Consume lots of fresh whole foods, like fruit, vegetables, legumes, grains etc. and avoid all sugary, canned, processed and packaged foods that are difficult to digest and lack nutritional content. This will reduce the production of impurities in your body, make the process of digestion easier, repair damaged tissues, regenerate skin cells, fight against skin problems and give you smooth, supple and glowing skin.

3.       Drink Tea Throughout the Day

Regular consumption of warm herbal teas helps to counter the dry, rough and cold qualities of Vata. Giving your skin greater complexion and keeping your skin looking younger for longer. Adding some ginger and lemon to your tea will further stimulate and improve your digestion, which is important for healthy skin.

4.       Go Nuts

Both traditional and Ayurvedic medicine agree that adding nuts and seeds to your diet will improve the condition of your skin. A good variety of nuts will provide you with a healthy source of vitamins and minerals, essential for glowing skin. Consume lots of Pumpkin Seeds (great source of Vitamin E – powerful antioxidant that helps skin repair itself quickly), Walnuts (packed with B vitamins – beneficial for stress management and mood, and prevent skin disorders), Sunflower Seeds (full of magnesium – a mineral shown to calm your nerves, muscles and blood vessels, meaning better blood flow to your skin: essential for youthful skin) and Peeled Almonds (loaded with fibre, protein, essential fatty acids and a natural anti-inflammatory – essential for a healthy, reduced blood pressure and for treating skin disorders such as acne, psoriasis and eczema).

5.       Get Active

Not only will exercise keep you healthy and toned but it will keep your skin looking great. Exercise helps to sweat out toxins, improve circulation to your skin, enhance digestion and give you a healthy blush. Be sure to choose the right exercise for you, whatever it is, yoga, walking, jogging, swimming etc. make sure you enjoy it and be sure not to overdo it.

6.       Keep Your Skin Hydrated

Keeping your skin cells hydrated all throughout the day is very important. If possible, massage your body 1 or 2 times a week (or get your partner to keep your romantic relationship exciting) with warm herbal oil. An oil massage is the best remedy for dry and rough skin. The nourishing herbs and warm oil provides long-lasting hydration to the skin cells. Regularly done, massage stimulates healthy blood circulation, lymph drainage, reduces water retention, increases muscle tone, improves complexion, calms the mind and balances emotions. All very important for healthy skin.

7.       Meditate

Stress and anxiety are almost second nature to some in day to day life. This ongoing mental nature can place a taxing toll on our skin and physical wellbeing. As a result, our skin and body becomes dull, dark and aged. Meditation is one of the most effective ways to get rid of stress, anxiety and tension. So, start practicing daily and enjoy stress free living and a healthy glowing exterior.
